As 2012 begins there is much anticipation about the Facebook IPO (initial public offering) that is scheduled to take place this year. Some estimates value the company as high as $80 billion. One good thing with the coming IPO is that veil of secrecy around the rumored “Facebook Search Engine” will finally come off. Here are 7 reasons why you can expect a Facebook search engine within the next 12 months…finally.

1. Everyone Wants It - If we take a look at the most searched for phrases with the term “search” in them that have growing interest with low a results, you will see “search engines to find people” as one of the fastest growing conversations online without any product or solution to that query. The Internet Time Machine project finds growing trends and niches with high demand and low supply. Since Facebook has over 700 million people on its service, this is the most logical place to start an engine to find people.

Now take a look at Google search volume for the terms “facebook search”. Google volume acts as very nice metaphor for “demand” in our supply and demand equation. So, just on the demand side, look at the volume of people looking for a Facebook specific engine.

2. The Facebook IPO - When Facebook finally goes public, there will be tremendous pressure on them show growth. Not only to show growth of subscribers and users, but to show growth in how Facebook makes money, which is advertising. I would estimate a Facebook based search engine that allows you to stay within the iFrame of Facebook while seeing results (i.e. You never leave the Facebook URL) would generate over a billion new pages views per day for Facebook. These page views could host very targeted ads based on Bing’s search algorithm blended with social factors like “shares”, “likes”, and “comments”. Once a company goes public, the need to show growth is intense, as most of the stock price will be priced at “future earnings”, not current numbers. In order to have your stock price go up, you need to constantly higher earnings and projections.

3. The Bing Partnership – Facebook and Bing have already partnered up to improve and experiment with Bing’s results. The two companies have been working together for over two years now to see how social media integration into search results could improve a users experience and overall happiness with their results query. Facebook has down played this testing so far and said they have not seen major changes to search results based on integration with social media signals like a “like” or “share”. I think this is just a smoke screen and Facebook is very anxious, and just waiting for after the lockup period of the IPO to release its own engine. After and IPO, there is a period of time that owners of shares can’t sell them. This period can be anywhere from 30 days to as much as 180. Once a company goes public with massive fanfare, it needs a big boost or announcement once the lockup period is over because millions of shares will be sold by early investors, employees, and others, hence driving the stock price down. This is when Facebook will need a game changing announcement to get their shares to continue higher.

4. It Would Kill Google – It is no secret that there is no love lost between Google and Facebook. Facebook has the potential to literally devastate Google in one day. Can you image what happens to Google’s stock price if the lost even 1% of overall search volume in one day, let alone the damage Facebook/Bing could do if people love the new Facebook search engine? You could easily see Google’s total search volume drop by 10% in a month and stock price crater. This is by far the #1 fear of Google and the only threat they have to their search dominance. If it wasn’t for the Android operating system, Google could be as vulnerable as, say game maker Zynga, to the whims of Facebook.

Splinter search engines that go after specific niches are already eating into Google’s dominance. Examples like Wolfram Alpha, a search engine for mathematics, and NowRelevant.com, a search engine for information about your subject for the past two weeks only, are prime examples of niche engines that have found footing on the Internet. To say Facebook wants no part of this market or eating away at Google’s margins is ridiculous.

5. Facebook Won’t Talk About It – This is great sign that there is something big going on. The fact that Facebook doesn’t talk about it and even throws out a few stories about how they really aren’t interested in search and how the Bing results were not a story, tells me where there is denial, there is fire. That would be like Facebook saying they aren’t interested in creating a billion new page views per day for advertisers campaigns. Or that, even though they are now a public company and need to increase revenue and earnings, they aren’t interested in having ultra target ad pages that cost advertisers big bucks on their network. Or better yet, they are fine that people stay on Facebook to do everything except search, and the fact they go to Google to do that is okay with them.

None of those reasons make any sense and the fact that Facebook will face so much more scrutiny over their numbers and growth, almost guarantees a new Facebook based search engine this year.

6. They Already Have The Spot Ready- If you check your Facebook page, you will see a search box already there. The results have been limited to fan pages and friends until this point, but the fact that it is already integrated into the standard Facebook platform means there will be minimal user complaints on a user interface change.

7. Google Is Rushing To Beat Them To It! Starting In January of 2012, Google + members will be able to search Google on a broad base or against their own social network recommendations. Basically, Google had the search engine but not the social network, so they had to build one. Facebook has the social network and not the search engine, hence they teamed up with Bing. Now Google, with its search engine and Google+ network is incorporating the “+1″ likes into their results, and given users the change to change their results based on recommendations from their social network. This will have dramatic effects on areas like internet marketing and search based advertising.

In case you haven’t been following the news from the upcoming Russian election, the Wall Street Journal did a fascinating piece on it today. (Russian Mogul To View With Putin For Presidency)

The hot topics and trends listed on the search engine NowRelevant.com had the phrase “putin pictures” come up recently, so let me sum it up for you. NowRelevant.com shows you everything about a subject for the past two weeks and its results are blog and forum based, so when “putin pictures” shows up, it must be something recent.

The quick summary story is this. It seems that Putin’s advisors have told him he is running against the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Guy In The World” for the Russian presidency. Putin has unleashed a series of photos and interviews that has him rivaling Arnold Schwarzenegger and Stallone as the “greatest action hero”. Photos of Putin fishing, wrestling, shooting, biking, doing judo, shirtless, you name it, and it is out there. There is even one of Putin finding the lost city of Atlantis on a scuba dive off the coast of Russia. (Correction, on his only dive he found artifacts and treasure that the other 4,000 divers before him missed.)

Today’s Wall Street Journal story points out that Russian Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, the same Mikhail Prokhorov who owns the NJ, soon to be Brooklyn Nets of the NBA, is also going to run for president. Mikhail didn’t want to seem that he wasn’t the most interesting man in the world either, so his campaign released a series of photos that include Xgame jet ski action, kung fu, and full court basketball action.

This got us wondering as to what it would look like if the Republican candidates for president of the United States had to run a campaign that related more to Russian voters than US voters.

There are very many modern technological advancements that take place all over the world in the present day. One of the areas of internet technology that has arguably witnessed a lot of growth in the more recent years is social media. Every person who is computer literate and has access to consistent and reliable internet is linked to at least one social media account. On the other extreme, there are people in the world who practically live their lives online and spend practically every waking moment of their lives at these social internet sites. The topics of discussion at these sites cover a wide and extensive range of issues and there are practically no boundaries or limits as to the field that can be discussed. Twitter and Facebook are just a few of these social networking sites that stand out from the rest, basically because of their extensive outreach and large subscriber base. A study of the trends and discussions that go on at these sites would provide useful insight into the trends and patterns in the market that are most popular for discussion.

In the recent times, a number of companies have been waking up to the realization of just how insightful a study of the activities at the social networking sites can be in the prediction of future market trends. It is possible to predict the direction that a particular product or service is bound to take in advance by analyzing the way it is received, a feat that can be achieved by careful examination of the social networking sites. When a particular commodity shows popularity at particular social sites, this is a clear indication that this product or service is being equally or better received in the market. As such, studying the trends at the sites in terms of the hottest discussions and issues would be beneficial in predicting whether or not a product is going to be successful. The use of social media analysis for business purposes is relatively new and one which most people would argue has not been fully explored. Even though there are already a number of websites such as The Internet Time Machine that are dedicated to the analysis and interpretation off trends in social media for business predictions, the fact still remains that the idea is still not at its final stages. This explains why there are still studies being carried out in the field. The studies are aimed at the determination of both the capacity and potential for the use of social media. One such illustration is evident in the grants that have been issued for studies in the field, notable among them being the recent grant of $10 million issued to an MIT professor. The grant was intended to be used in the conduction of studies geared towards establishing the viability of Twitter for use in the conduction of trade. There are numerous other similar studies that have been set up and the objectives of these studies can loosely be said to be the same. Twitter is not the only social networking site that has been the object of such studies. Other sites have also been beneficiaries. The subsequent parts of this article will be dedicated to a discussion and overview of how hedge funds and other entities are using social media to predict FOREX moves as well as other stock moves.

v The use of social media in predicting stock moves

There is a lot of information that is exchanged over the internet in social networking sites. It is a fact that at any one time, there will always be someone who has some new information on any given issue. The exchange of such information that is always going on at the social sites has great potential for use in predictive analysis. Knowing the products and services that excite the interests of customers is an essential pointer or indicator in predicting and directing the kind of policies to be adopted for the long-term operations of the company. One of similar pilot projects that have been set up in the recent past and which has shown attractive and very promising results is The Internet Time Machine Project which has been around for a while now. The purpose of the project is simply to monitor worldwide conversations, with the ultimate aim of identifying the trends and ideas regarding new products. Whenever a company introduces a new product or service into the market, it is inevitable the proprietors of the company will be interested in establishing in advance the kind of response that their product is likely to receive. A lot of time and resources could be saved if the company was able to access this kind of information. Unfortunately, in the past there has been no way to predict the outcomes of new ventures. Today however, the situation need not be the same and is a far cry from what was witnessed in the past. A study of the Internet Time Machine project mentioned above should at this point serve to shed better light on the kind of achievements that can be made when social networking is linked to business forecasting. The project is dedicated to the monitoring of worldwide trends and conversations and has been very successful at this task. In fact, only recently they announced the rerelease of the first public access version to FOREX trading based on search volume and social media, known as ITM Financial. (see www.SocialForexSignals.com)

v The use of social media in FOREX trading

FOREX trading is one of the modern business fields that continue to hold a lot of mystery for many people all around the world. As any FORREX trader will most definitely tell you, FOREX trading is highly speculative. It has often been compared to a game in which the accuracy of your speculative decisions is the only determinant between loss and profit. As is the case with any speculative activity, inside information is practically invaluable. Simply being able to accurately predict the changes that are bound to take place in the course of FOREX trading gives any trader an insurmountable advantage. Of course, the employment or user of such insider information is against the law in most countries around the world and would attract harsh fines or imprisonment if discovered and this is why most people and firms resolve to simply keep off the same entirely. Imagine the advantage that you or your firm would enjoy if you could find a source of information that gives you insight into the future of the FOREX while remaining within the boundaries of the law and acceptable ethics. This is precisely the kind of advantage that is gained when social networking is combined together with business forecasting. One website, www.ForexSocialSignals.com has been at the forefront in the provision of these kinds of services to all prospective individuals and businesses.

In light of the above discussion, it is clear that social networking has a lot of potential for use in business that has not yet been fully harnessed. The number of companies who are trying to make the most out of the sites is not very large, but it is expected that this number will most definitely increase in the recent years as the benefits of doing so continue to become clearer. This is probably the best time to make use of the social media sites for your business as the costs involved are not yet very high and are within the reach off some of the most modest of budgets. As more people and organizations get to know the kind of advantages that they stand to gain by using social networking, the costs of the service will most likely increase and they may not be as affordable in the future as they are today.

The capacity and potential for the incorporation of social media into business forecasting and online trading is not unlimited. There are a number of factors that serve to limit the kind of growth that the sector can attain. One such factor is the possibility of flooding of information which would have the effect of retaining the status quo as far as the availability of the information is concerned. It is easy to see how this could happen especially in the sense that once every person has or is in a position to easily access inside information on any particular issue relating to stock movement or FOREX trading, then the benefits of such inside information cancel out and it is almost as if there was no inside information at all since it is of no use to anyone. Thus it is just as imperative to contain the flow of the information collected from conversations at the social sites as it is important to find such information. There are a number of ways through which this can be achieved, and it is encouraging to discover that most of the key players in the field have put up a number of measures aimed at controlling how the information is distributed or used. Of course, not all the information that is collected through such programs as those at The Internet Time Machine Project is dangerous or even requires regulation and control. In fact, a number of them provide information that is best utilized when it is reviewed by as large an audience as possible. Examples of this kind of information include facts about emerging or future purchasing trends in particular markets which can be deduced from monitoring the conversations and discussions at the social networking sites.

v Applications of search engines in business decision- making

Another important component that has shown great potential in business predictions is the search engine. Search engines contain a lot of useful and insightful information about customer behavior that should prove invaluable to any business that is seeking to learn more about their customers. The most popular search engines in use today understand the need to establish search patterns from the searches that are conducted at their sites as well as the application of such data in making sound business decisions. In case you are wondering just how the search engines can be employed in the making of business decisions, then this discussion should prove to be of great benefit in shedding better light on the subject. Normally, people visit or use the search engines when they wish to find particular information about a given subject but do not really know the precise place to seek for it. From the search results, they can then decide on the website to visit which they feel will be able to best satisfy their needs. The search engines themselves store all of the search topics that are raised by users. There are some topics which from time to time will invariably exhibit a larger volume of searches in comparison to the rest. Whenever a given issue is searched so much at the search engines, the indication is that many people are aware of it and that it is having a considerable impact in some part of the universe.

Therefore, if a company were to introduce a new product into the market, the volume of searches relating to this particular product are a more than fair indication of the kind of reception that the product is receiving in the market. The more searches relating to the product that are recorded at the search engines, the more the impact the products are having. The application of the internet search volumes in business is not very different from the manner in which the social media websites are applied. There are a number of dedicated sites whose primary objective is to analyze search engine topics and identify any trends therein so as to uncover results that can be applied in the making of important business decisions. Google trends looks at purely the demand side, as it show just search query volume. Supply side studies as defined by organic results or pay per click advertisers are not taken into account in Google trends. Supply and demand curve monitoring are done by startups like The Internet Time Machine project.

With the current debate raging on about online privacy issues, the Congress debating the “do not follow me” legislation, and with smartphones now tracking your every move, it seemed the right time for a counter culture movement to emerge. ConcealMy.Biz is the most proactive tool in the fight against online identity theft, consumer fraud, and corporate tracking strategies.

Up until this point, the fight against identity theft has been waged by “locking down” your information and by “monitoring” your information. These are all very defensive positions.

ConcealMy.Biz is the first company to offer complete, 100% anonymous online shopping and web surfing. There system of patent pending algorithms allows for your purchase information and web surfing habits to be completely removed from any online areas. This is not only good for online identity theft protection, but keeping certain purchases off your credit card statement. For example, let’s say it is around the holidays and you would like to get some gifts that you don’t want your spouse or significant other to see or know about, then ConcealMy.Biz would be perfect for that purchase.

“By far the best new start up I have ever seen.” proclaimed Internet Time Machine founder, Curt Dalton. “Our trends analytics engine has had identity theft phrases gaining in popularity every month for over two years. It is a hot area that needs a more proactive and aggressive approach to it.”

ConcealMy.Biz will offer customer a completely virtual credit card number with no plastic card necessary, as well as full anonymous plastic card, that has no name or address attached it. There will be three levels of membership that include an anonymous web surfing feature, as well as an anonymous email accounts as well.

With our recent meet up with Mark Zuckerberg at Pinocchio’s in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We received a ton of emails along the lines of, “Well, how good is the pizza there if Mark made an emergency stop to get some before getting on the plane?”. We can tell you that the pizza is very good in a “late night, college hangout kind of way”.

That reminded me of a discussion I have with my brother often about our “5 Death Row Meals”. Along the lines of the Food Networks show “The Best Thing I Ever Ate”, where celebrity chefs sit down and talk about the best meal they ever had. (This is a must on the DVR box as your mouth will water with every episode.)

The way the conversation works, is that you have to pick out what you would eat if you only had 5 meals left on this planet. They can be restaurant dishes or homemade dishes that you remember growing up. This list is subject to change based on new experiences but here is the NowRelevant.com’s last 5 meals list before Google comes and buys us.

#5 – Chicken tikka masala – Now, before you say “Oh, I don’t like Indian food or curry”, you don’t even have to go there. Chicken tikka marsala is tandoori chicken (chicken cooked in a special clay oven) in a tomato and cream sauce that you will want to soak up with all the garlic nan (Indian bread like a pita pocket) that you order with your meal. Put this together with basmati Indian rice (long white rice) and you have the makings of what we all an “Indian Burrito”. The tomato cream sauce has a touch of Indian seasonings and you will so disappointed when you have a bowl of sauce left and no nan to soak it all up with. The best I have ever had can be found at Bollywood Cafe, North Andover, Massachusetts. Avoid testing this at Indian food locations in mall food courts, as the quality tends to be very poor.

#4 – Roast Beef (New England Based) Sandwich – If you have ever been around the Boston area you know the only thing more plentiful than Dunkin Donuts are roast beef joints. New England roast beef sandwich are made from roast beef that is cooked on site, sliced thin, and either served with mayonnaise or BBQ sauce. The sandwich was made famous in the movie Good Will Hunting during the “I’ll put your sandwich on layaway” scene with Casey and Ben Affleck. The common order around New England is “beef, cheese, sauce” or “roast beef 3 way”. I prefer it on a pita bread as opposed to a sandwich roll or sub roll. The best roast beef sandwich in the world is at a place called Nick’s Famous Roast Beef in North Beverly, Massachusetts. If you want it on a pita bread, by far the best pita sandwiches on the planet are at Charlie’s Roast Beef and Pizza in Middleton, Massachusetts.

#3- Steak Burrito from Maravillas Restaurant – This may be the best burrito in the world. I prefer it as “no beans, with sour cream”. The steak is seasoned and cooked to perfection, the sour cream is cold, and the burrito shell is pressed on the grill to slightly toast the outside. This is standard late night far for any University of Chicago student, as Maravillas is located on the south side of Chicago, just off of the U of C campus. Maravillas is located in 5211 South Harper Ave, Chicago Illinois.

#2 – The Ranch – The Ranch is the name given to a small house that turn into a restaurant one night a week in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. The Ranch serves marinated chicken and steak tips cooked over an open grill on long skewers. The meat is marinated in a secret sauce for 24 hours before cooking and then served piping hot at your table with hot bread and a secret garlic/mayonnaise/yogurt sauce. The meat is so juicy and perfect you could eat it all night long, but dip it into this secret garlic dipping sauce, and you have just discovered one of the best food combinations known to man. By the time your plate is empty you will be begging for more bread and sauce, and on rare occasions, asking Roger the cook, if you can take the whole tub of sauce and drink it. I have never done anything intravenously into my body, but if I did, I think I would pick this sauce. The Ranch is open only on Friday nights and it is first come, first serve.

#1 – Hot Lobster and Drawn Butter – There may be no better food combination created by God then hot lobster meat and hot butter. It is a New England summer tradition to get some lobsters (or lobbi’s as my sister in law calls them) and steam them up with some corn and have a lobster feast. The best way to serve it is with enough melted butter to submerge the whole lobster tail into and then eat it so butter is rolling down your lips and off your chin. Winner of the best food combination ever, with ranch meat and sauce a close second, and roast beef and mayonnaise third. (chocolate and peanut butter and hamburger meat and cheese are up for honorable mention)

Honorable mention – If the governor decided to give you a stay of execution and you got a few extra meals, honorable mention would be…

ALT- 5 Guys Burger – I have tested burgers far and wide and 5 Guys continues to be the best burger that money can buy. It isn’t the biggest burger, but for overall taste and experience, I would serve this burger to an alien that just landed and wanted to try a cheeseburger.

ALT #2- Giordano’s Deep Dish Pizza – Sorry all of you Gino’s East lovers, but the best Chicago deep dish around is still Giordanos. If you have never had a true Chicago deep dish pizza, you are missing out on a delicacy. It is called a “pizza pie” for a reason, sauce on top (huh?), condiments below, all stuffed into a pizza dough crust..

ALT #3 – Marinated tuna steaks with Dutch tartar sauce - Go and head some tuna steaks, marinate them for 24 hours in Italian dressing. Make a tartar sauce of plain yogurt, mayonnaise, lots of dill, and chopped up sweet onion. Let it cool in the freezer for a few minutes Grill tuna steaks on the grill until cooked through the inside buy still juicy.

We were lucky enough to bump into our favorite Facebook’er Mark Zuckerberg after a pizza at Pinocchio’s in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mark did say he loved Pinocchio’s and it was the only place that he wanted to come back and eat at after five years of being away from Boston.

Mark was in town to look for new talent at MIT and Harvard in the computer science field. As far as expanding into Boston, he said, “I would love to someday, it is just in the plans for the very near future.”

What does Mark think of NowRelevant.com and how Google seems to be “copying our every move”?

Coincidences are just that, turns of fate that just happen to occur at the same time. Some take a technological point of view to coincidences and say the “Matrix” software is just a bit buggy and that chances of luck are just that. Others say it is more energy based, as in “great minds think alike”, so like patterns tends to intersect.

Let’s take a look at Google and NowRelevant.com and check to see if Google’s movements are coincidental or if there is something more sinister going on.

Case #1 – Google changes the location of their “search results by time” function one week before NowRelevant.com releases its beta version. Up until this point in history, in order to change the Google results page to chronological, you had to do two clicks. It was somewhat hidden, and not many people knew you could even do it. One week before NowRelevant.com’s launch, and 4 days after its press release, Google moves the “sort by time” feature to front and center on its SERP pages.

Case #2 – As NowRelevant.com gains traction with bloggers and forum lovers, Google announces its results have become “stale” (didn’t use the word “relevant” though) to some of its users and was going to alter its algorithm to make results “more timely”.

If Google suddenly allows videos in their PPC model like NowRelevant.com we are going to start speaking Navaho Indian dialect in the office so the code breakers are stumped.

Why I switched from the Apple Iphone to the Samsung Galaxy 2.

I thought I would post this review on NowRelevant.com since the subject is certainly very relevant. (Seeing how AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon have just sold out of the soon to be released Iphone 4 GS!)

Background:

I have been a loyal Iphone owner since almost Day 1. I loved the Iphone from the moment I got it and still think it is a fabulous phone. So, why switch then? Good question. I started thinking about leaving the Iphone when I bought my wife and IPAD for this past Mother’s Day. Huh? At the time, I thought I would need 2 IPAD’s since I was sure we were going to be battling over who gets to use it while “sitting in the chair and watching TV”.

But a funny thing happened on the way to the rodeo.

My wife got her IPAD, and she LOVES it. I tried to use it 5-10 times and it was nice, sleek, fancy, new..but I just didn’t get hooked. I liked my thumb using IPHONE for quick surfing and checking things. They complaint I had, especially compared to an IPAD, was that I wish the Iphone screen was a bit bigger, not a ton bigger, but I was jealous of the HTC EVO and its HD big screen.

So when my wife cracked here IPHONE and was not eligible for an upgrade/cheap new one, we were stuck. She wanted to stay with Apple and I thought, “I might as well look around” and then I could give her my IPHONE.

After a week of testing and trying the HTC EVO (now 3D), the Samsung Galaxy 2, and the Iphone 4 (no 4GS out yet), I switched to a Samsung Galaxy 2 after years with the Iphone. Here are the main reasons someone would ever consider switching from the IPhone, which is still an awesome phone.

1. Screen Size – The Samsung Galaxy 2 has a bigger and cleaner screen. This was the main complaint around the world when Apple introduced the Iphone 4GS, “what? no screen size change!” I see the Galaxy 2 as the birth child of an IPAD and IPHONE. The Galaxy is a like a mini-IPAD with a phone. It was the bigger screen for surfing and texting, not to mention movies, videos (oh yes, all those Flash ones play too!), and pictures. It also has a nice HD video camera and 8mg pixel camera too.

2. Videos – Flash, the works, no more little arrow showing you where a video might have been

3. 4G network – Iphones do not yet run on 4g networks, and Apple lists their speeds as “similar or comparable”

4. No more waiting in line at the Apple Store – This includes having to book an appointment 3 days in advance for someone to take a look at a problem on your phone or IPAD.

5. Widgets – I had no idea what widgets were until I switched over. You see, on the IPHONE we just have apps. Those are little square buttons you have to tap to pull up a desired app or program. There are over half a million of them to chose from now, so quantity is not the problem. Widgets are apps on steroids. You can basically set an “app” to take up 1/3, 1/4, 1/2 of one of the screens on your phone. These widgets connect when you pull your phone of locked and update information for you. So they are great for stock quotes, sports news, regular news, weather, etc. You don’t need to find an app somewhere on your phone and start it, with a widget, it stays active and very noticeable when you pick up for phone. For example, you could have a weather and clock widget, then a stock market widget, then a new widget all on one homepage so when you pick up your phone you can just look down to get weather, stocks, news, sports without touching anything.

6. Google Maps, Gmail, and Navigation – All work much faster and quicker on the Samsung and Android system. Google maps has always been a calling card for Android lovers, and I noticed Gmail and the built in navigation are much faster and smoother in the Android than the Iphone.

Things I miss about the IPHONE:

1. Texting – The Iphone does seem to just get ” texting right”. The size of the keyboard, the intuitiveness of the OS system and user interface. The Samsung allows you download all sorts of different keyboards and styles, but it just isn’t as smooth as the Iphone at texting. There is always a an extra step or something not quite as smooth as an IPhone when it comes to texting. I found the original keyboard to be SMALLER than the IPHONE one even though the screen is bigger! This was not good for fat thumbs.

2. IPOD – It was nice to have it build in and working so smoothly on the Iphone with Itunes. Android has programs to transfer all your songs over and plenty of places to get songs, it just requires an extra step or two. Apple is the king of making it easy “so my Mom could figure it out”.

Overall, the larger screen, faster speeds, and Gmail stuff makes the switch a good one for me. I no longer feel the need for a tablet as the increased screen and HD quality is fine for the things I use my phone for most of the time. I definitely think the IPHONE 5, whenever it comes out, will have a larger screen and will probably run on 4g officially in order to keep up with the current Droid models.
